Visit Fernkloof Nature Reserve

Have you visited Fernkloof Nature Reserve?

You DON'T need to be an avid hiker or a botany boffin to enjoy this beautiful setting of Fernkloof Nature Reserve. You can simply pack a picnic and while away a few hours with friends and family soaking in the sights and sounds of nature.   Children will enjoy the jungle gym and open playing areas at the entrance.  Many children's parties are hosted in this lovely area.   There is no entrance fee for the Fernkloof Nature Reserve.

If you DO enjoy hiking… there are four circular trails (2.2km – 13.7kms). They all start and end at the visitor centre.  It is important to stay on the designated paths.

Fynbos is one of the most diverse yet distinctive floras in the world and noted for the Proteas. This reserve is a fine example of fynbos with six of the seven endemic plant families and over 1600 species of Cape Floral Kingdom represented.
